The main purpose of the H.R. Generalist is to provide an end to end recruitment service for vacancies across both Retail and Corporate Office operations using best practices. Using key processes and procedures, you will ensure that the business receives a consistent, professional and value added recruitment service providing a great experience to clientele, colleagues, and hiring managers.  Working to promote the Mayors brand and attract the best talent, you will build effective working relationships with relevant institutions and build successful talent pipelines. In addition, you will support the L & D function by creating and delivering training initiatives to support the development of recruitment skills with Retail store management

  • The H.R. Generalist will operate professionally at all times and must ensure that high quality standards, detail and accuracy are delivered and maintained.


  • Liaise with Hiring Managers to understand requirements, working through ideas and solutions to provide an effective and efficient service


  • Maximize direct recruitment especially through the effective use of Social Media channels and through the building and maintenance of a successful talent pipeline (utilizing our ATS, eArcu), job boards, CV databases, etc.)


  • Perform general recruitment administration duties, arranging interviews for managers, advertising, ensuring all candidate communication is sent out in a timely manner


  • Support L & D with the development and implementation of management training which focuses on the development of talent resourcing skill sets


  •  Support L & D with overall responsibilities when needed


  •  Liaise with mall management when necessary, maintaining on-going effective working relationships


  • Proactively identify additional resourcing avenues and actions required to meet resourcing demands


  • Continuously post career opportunities on our internal intranet and company website


  • Maintain and continuously improve our careers site


  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience both internally and externally


  • Identify “hard to fill” roles and take appropriate action to assist


  • Interviewing candidates when necessary


  • Partner with Sr. H.R. Advisor for a smooth transition to onboarding


  • Integrate the company values into all recruitment and resourcing activities


  • Provide weekly status updates on recruiting progress


  • Project work as and when required 


Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Previous recruitment and learning and development experience
  • Interviewing Experience
  • Experience training with others
  • Excellent administrative and organization skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Working in a fast paced environment

  • Strong relationship-building skills

  • Knowledge of eArcu desirable
